Easy Yummy Brownies :)

This afternoon I felt to make cookies, so I pulled out one of my all-purpose cookbooks and started looking through, and I landed on a page with brownies. This recipe is super easy and quick, it's actually mixed in a saucepan, and makes some delicious and moist cocoa brownies. (I hate dry brownies!) I was also happy that it used all pantry staples, so I had all the ingredients on hand. Enjoy!

EASY YUMMY BROWNIES

½ cup all-purpose flour

½ cup unsweetened cocoa

¼ tsp baking powder

¼ tsp salt

½ cup butter (1 stick)

1 cup sugar

2 large eggs

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 cup walnuts (4 oz), coarsely chopped (OPTIONAL)

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease 9-inch square baking pan. In bowl, combine flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt.

2. In a 3-quart saucepan, melt butter over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in sugar. Stir in eggs, one at a time, until well blended. Add vanilla.

3. Stir flour mixture into sugar mixture until blended. Stir in nuts, if using. Spread batter evenly in prepared pan.

4. Bake until toothpick or knife inserted comes out almost clean, about 25 minutes. Cool completely in pan. When cool, cut into 16 brownies.
